I m just testing making a poll for I be thinking of making one soon
Hi Ian:
I checked off 40 hours but 42 or a bit more is actually more like it. I have a good schedule now and I can count on always getting my 40 hours even during our slow season so it isn't bad at all.
As for the poll...good job using one of the new OptiBoard tools! Not everyone will post in the reply area but many people will vote in the polls and enable you to get a good idea of what folks think about any particular subject.

Ian, I think you can edit your poll to include over 40 hrs. When making up a poll always include as many possibilities as practical.A perfect example can be found on the general discussion forum. My partner in crime,(Jo) conducted 2 polls. One on lens manufacturers and one on mail order contact lenses. The lens manufacturers poll was good because it included some(take my word for it) obscure mfg's.The contact lens poll was left lacking because she neglected to put in a space for people who don't fit or sell contact lenses at all. This is a significant number of practicioners due to prohibiting regulations in different states. So when making a poll try to include as many options as possible.Glad to see you working on your skills with the tools.uncle hojo

Good job Ian! I also reiterate what Harry and Jo said - many of use work more than 40 hours. If you create a poll and find out later that you should have added something else, just ask a Moderator of that forum to modify it for you. We have amazing powers! :D

I completely forgot about that Steve!I am a little Rusty in moderatorhood-One post a week in three forums will do that to you!!:D
Ian is able to edit his own poll, is he not?
At any rate it will be a good test for me too!

When in doubt read the directions.....I just saw that only moderators can edit a poll. Thanks for the wake up call Steve!I'm off for the rest of the day for a little golf tourney in Sandwich- Have a good day all!

I have it set so only Moderators can edit polls. Otherwise people could easily rig the results.
Harry,
See what happens when we don't share our morning coffee together...The contact lens poll was left lacking because she neglected to put in a space for people who don't fit or sell contact lenses at all. I just figured the poll would be for folks who handle contacts. I didn't even think to see who doesn't handle contacts at all; it would be interesting to have some numbers on that.
Thanks Harry! Gotta start running into you in the mornings again.

I have forgotten how many options I had began with can someone tell me how many I had. I think Maria had a very good poll on the colours of settings on your optiboard page because it included all options possible, I Shall keep that in Mind
I didnt think that someone could work over 50 hours, do you work weekends??
Ian:
I think you originally posted the first four choices.
Many of us work weekends and evenings. Personally, I just have a hard time putting things down and walking away. I try not to let too many tasks run into the next day since we are just busy enough to fall to far behind if we miss things. Of course, I could work those hours because I am just a bit crazy; that's a strong possibility. ;)

Ian, Some of us even call it work when we are playing on the Optiboard....(if we're in the office):D :D :D
You spent some time with us so you have a good idea what time I left and what time I came home.(Come to think of it.....you never saw what time I left because you were still visiting "Blanket Street")And don't forget those occasional trips back to the office for service calls.I had one on a Saturday while you were here. Most people in this industry are used to doing whatever it takes to get the job done. For most of us, its not the time that matters, its the job.
