Hi Everyone!

I'm going to start work on an updated Optical Links page and would like to ask you to post what you consider some of the best web sites for the ophthalmic profession. Thanks for all your help!

Steve:
If you are including magazines, I like
opticourier.com
It's folksy, but I get bored with other
sites' news about who's bought out XXX, and
who is the new head of XYZ corporation.
It'll be great having a central source for
optical websites! Most of what I love now
I only accidently stumbled onto... including your original site! Thanks!

Hi Steve,

Good job on the new board! I have to put in a plug for what I consider the best web site: * The National Federation of Opticianry Schools!*

Our Webmaster is Tom Schultz, and he is awwwwwesome.

To those of you who haven't seen it...please check it out: www.nfos.org (http://www.nfos.org) It has links to tons of other optical web sites, including the fabulous optiboard.

Have a great holiday weekend, everyone!

Laurie

Dear Laurie, I have a question (or anyone else who might know and want to answer). Have you heard if Roane State has enrolled in NFOS? I am still curious and considering enrolling on-line. I know last time (about 6months or so ago) they were still not on.
Still interested,
Steph
Oh btw, Thanks (you just can't ask a question like that without at least saying thanks :)

I have found the site called Allaboutvision.com to be very informative.

If you can't find it there, I'm not sure you should know it.

Come on people. Surely you've come across some interesting and useful optical sites on the web! Please follow Laurie's and jenny's lead and share them with the rest of us.

Sorry Steve,

I feel like pond scum for not having shared any of my favorite sites with the rest of the boarders. I like Global Optometric & Global Discussion, www.djo.harvard.edu/, (http://www.djo.harvard.edu/,) www.iovs.org/, (http://www.iovs.org/,) www.jegs.com, (http://www.jegs.com,) www.expressautoparts.com, (http://www.expressautoparts.com,) www.wrenchead.com. (http://www.wrenchead.com.) And then of course there are "those other links" but I won't put them here :-)

I hope this helps people out. For the best in optical information and auto repair, here you have it ;-) If anyone knows of someone that has an affordable rotor lathe, I might be interested in purchasing one ;-)

Steve,
I have to agree with Shwing, both sites that he listed are good ones. www.customerssuck.com (http://www.customerssuck.com) is very entertaining and onlinecec is a good source for A.B.O. credits. I would definately list them.

Does anyone have data regarding the number of PALs sold to patients in the US, western world, world-wide? I would greatly appreciate reading any official data or evaluations. Please attach source if you know it.

Thanks in advance, Raanan

Raanan,

Since this topic is "Best Optical Sites on the Web", you'd probably get a quicker answer by starting a new topic on this subject.

Steve,

I thought that maybe someone would post an address of a site containing such info. I'd consider such a site as one of "The best optical sites on the web". Anyway, I'd probably get more response by following your advice. Thanks, Raanan.
