What is the best progressive lens to use under the VSP... i know it should truly be off of the individual patient but for the general public, that can wear any lens... what is the BEST pay back through VSP OR promotional lens... EX: I believe Kodak had $25 back on each lens fit.....?
Thanks for all your suggestions.

Reimbursement for VSP progressives is uniform.
i know it should truly be [up to] the individual patientBingo!
If you're selling for "spiff" then as Chip might say "As ye sow so shall ye reap."
I think this is why no replies have yet to come your way.
Maybe someone has a different opinion?
Kind regards
Fester:)

I am ashamed in your behalf "optician"!! I can't even believe your thinking. What happened to the reason I hope you are in this business?
Like, wow patient care? Responsibility, morals, man....you are
reminding me why I have an ex......please somehow take your post off
before everyone questions your credibility at all.......:(
Kristin,
I'm not going to chastise you. That's already been done very well. :bbg:
There IS, actually, a best PAL design to maximize your VSP payouts...
(insert dramatic pause here)
It is the lens that most appropriately delivers clear and comfortable, functional vision to that specific patient (as you alluded to), whatever that lens may be. You make your patient happy and you will reap the "reward" of personal satisfaction knowing you didn't succumb to the temptation of an over-marketed world, as well as the potential referral that happy consumer will make.
Oh, and never ever EVER let a kickback be your motivator, lest you get kicked in your back SIDE by all who find out. ;)
Take care and t(h)read carefully.

I think you guys are being dismissive and unfair. He is saying that "all things being equal" what would you go with. For example, I am very fond of Shamir genesis as a good balanced lens design. Therefore, I was pleased to find that they have a promotional of $10 rebate for each vsp prescription. I used them before this rebate and will use them after. I think that it's this that the poster was asking about. After all, if Kodak turns out to be a marvelous lens and it offers $25 back per Rx, you can bet I'll use it too. As of now I don't.
FYI: Exact same question was asked and addressed here: http://www.optiboard.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24717
