View Full Version : Why I post so much on Optiboard.com

The reason why I post so much on optiboard and will sometimes even post the smallest amount of information is that I have come to use the optiboard as a tool.
If you look topwards the bottom of the page you will notice:
Threads: 23,200, Posts: 194,398
Now if I find a thread that someone has brought up as a good questions or something that I would like to know I post a comment and it does two things. One I am hopefully helping to add to the body of knowledge that we call optiboard, and two I am hoping that by posting what little I know on the subject if in the future I need to reference that thread or any information contained in it all I have to do is search for the little tidbit I contributed along with the adavnced search function which allows me to search for onyl threads that contain post by me.
So if I have posted on your thread, that means to me it was a good question or that I would liek to know more about that subject.

You, and many more like you, are the reason I PAID to get the info I get here. I have been an optician for over 32 yrs and never thought I knew it all, but thought I knew alot. After lurking here for a short time, right about the the time that Steve was forced to start chargeing, it din't take long to sign up. I have leaned so much from so very many people here, and would like to meet them personally some day and call them my friends. And thank you to Steve, who provides us this forum.

OBX you work in a beach area. Speaking as someone whose closest beach is Lake Erie I'd like to be your friend.

It's been a weird night. As you can see, many of us are fiercely protective of Optiboard and Steve. We know you meant no harm.

That was a rude response, Please let me explain. I am relatively new here,, and have been treading lightly, but it is a great forum for all of us to share. I am slowly working my way in to reponses and do enjoy my time here. Any harm to steve is harm to all of us in a way, he only provides the forum for us to speak our mind. I once again will say how much I haved learned from everyone here.
P.S. Even you uncle fester, hey who tought me to Quote in my messages?

It takes a little while to get the "tone" of the posters here but at first just take everything tongue-in-cheek. K182749837 wasn't trying to be rude at all. It's just good humored sarcasm. Steve is the founder of the Optiboard and since most optiboarders know this they just tease a little.
Welcome aboard - it's great to have your experience added to the pile. I don't have as much experience as you do in the field so I am looking forward to your contributions as well!

K182749837 wasn't trying to be rude at all. I was refering to my one word reply, Not something someone else said. Mis-understanding .
