Hi Guys,

Nice meeting all of you in this forum.

I have a quiry with regards to polycarbonate lens material.

I have an end-consumer who complains that after 2 years, her polycarbonate lenses seemed to have fogged up.

On verification, her right lens as compared to her left lens fitted on a rimless looks partially tinted in faint white colour.

I understand that uncoat polycarbonate is a material sensitive to chemical attacks especially acetone.

However, is it possible that acetone or other chemicals could have penetrate the lens material with affecting the polished surface?

Thanks for your replies.

Very simple, this is most probably a chemical attack on the hard coat. This can happen with liquids or also fumes at the work place.
