I will be there Judy. It is never too early for planning for Vegas! What restaurant to eat at, what show to see, etc. This year is my oldest daughter's 16th. We are usually at VEW on her birthday so we are planning to take the kids and go to Emeril Lagasse's to eat. We are all big Emeril fans.

Since Judy started this thread, I don't think she'd have a problem if we shacked up at her place. Having met her, she seems really nice, and since she'll be working the show, we could order room service and charge movies to Polycore while she's gone.

Ok, here's the deal:

I got a PM from Judy. She said we are definitely NOT invited to crash at her penthouse suite. She said the last time all the Optiboarders stayed with her, they stayed up all night, got into a heated argument over PAL designss, and the ensuing brawl caused quite a bit of damage. (Way to go Fezz; a few people always have to ruin it for the others.)

So...

I went ahead and booked the Best Western Mardi Gras. (Last of the big spenders) It's cool because you don't have to wait in line to check in, there are no elevators to wait for, and you can drive right up to the room that you're staying in. (No long hauls w/ the coolers)

Since Judy nixed my idea, and the rest of you are out in the cold, where do you plan on staying?

...a mere 5+ hour drive thru blistering heat, being passed continually even tho you're already driving 95mph, a cooler of barley pop in the trunk, friends, family, fun, eyecandy, incredible architecture, Bellagio Fountains, slots, 21 tables, shows and completely surrounded by incredible.

Did someone say there is an optical convention there too? Cool...I might even take that in...

Green Valley.... Goldrush Casino. Awsome Prime Rib $4.99 !!!!! All day!!!
Red Rock Casino.... great buffet. I actually like this place as much as Bellagio. And almost half the price...

I am staying at TI (the cool slang term for Treasure Island) and bringing the hubby this year, we are making a mini vacation out of it! Coming up Friday and staying 'til Sunday.

How about this...

We leave a sign-in sheet at Lee or Judy's booth.

Any Optiboarder that's there can sign in, and leave a cell # where they can be reached if they want to, that way there's no set time that will interfere with meetings or anything like that.

There are a lot of others like IceTech, Doc In China, or Optidon.

Just a thought...
