Has anyone else felt the rath of the giant yet. DelVecchio told evryone that he doesnt want to put us out of business when he bought lenscrafters. but since then he has ballooned up to 5800 stores and growing. He has aquired most of the designer names. And as of July 15th my offices were told that they will no longer be able to purchase luxottica product. And to top it off we called into eyemed for a patient and were told that we can no longer accept the plan for materials. We have an almost zero return rate, pay our bills by the 10th and do about 15 thousand dollars per month with the giant. They believe that they donot have to give any explanation, and say that it was an executive decesion. Please let me know if you have had a similar situation. Noone can stop the giant by themself. One last thing to think about is that they say you cannot sell on the internet, but they do through sunglass hut, they say you cannot discount there designer frames but tell you that anyone with eyemed must get a disscount. And will not put in writing that you can or cant on there with there products when someone wants a chanel. They will pick us off one at a time if we dont ban together.

It is a shame that you have been treated like this.
I do not see us formally banning together, but instead expressing our opinion through our dollars.

I have told you everything I know. They have told me nothing, and none of the reps will return my calls. Some of these reps I have worked with for 20 years, but must have been told not to call me. I wish I could tell more of a reason.

Have you paid your bill at Lux? Or have you been carrying a long time ballance? As far as I know (except for one practioner that thinks he is too high class to sink to Lux product and literally told the reps to get the H out of his office) Lux only cares about money.
Lux does make claims about thier practice builders, etc. But basicly they just want to make sales, anywhere, any time, any way.

Me too, as far as I know. We just saw one of their reps a couple days ago. No mention of not selling to us. Honestly, they'd be doing me a favor.

Often, there are more things at work in situations where dealership contracts are summarily cancelled than meets the eye.
For example, there can be policy & procedure questions/violations/repeated-transgressions that have more to do with the fashion brand's Policy & procedures, particularly with respect to *advertising* guidelines.
I've this happen in the camera & telescope industry, where I was a product & marketing manager for over 20 years.

I understand everyones questions, but honestly None of those problems exist with my account. And if they would just give an answer to me I would be more understanding. My attorney said they dont have to have a reason.

Your attorney said there is nothing you can do. I would doubt that if it has something to do with a new store of theirs. It would violate fair trade, but Lux is a big fish to fry. Not to demean your lawyer but i imagine he doesnt get involved in fair trade practices. I honestly have never heard of such an act done by a frame company especially one so close to monopoly status. Now if you verbally harrassed them on numerous occaisions then they can determine you hostile or as explained Barry but that usually involves dealership agreements which would only affect lines like Chanel. I know a guy who got his Chanel account closed because of that. (Lux wasnt the bad guy here he even admitted he only had 6 pieces and ordered it when pt. insisted) The Prada and Persol rep still come in all smiles. I am not questioning the validity of your statement but you have to be leaving something out. I heard through the grapevine Lux likes money.
I'm sitting here shaking just thinking about the fury of evil that Lux could stir up with the legions of lawyers that they must have on the payroll.

Half truth. You did something. Probably had to do with the telephone if your rep knew nothing. I don't think post of this nature should be allowed with out notifying the company first so they can respond. Not that they necessarily would. Sorry, I just don't believe this. If this is a half truth Mrspecs you do realize you are exposing yourself legally to prove this in court or pay dearly?

I look back at your post. Should be pretty easy to figure out who you are. The first was rate your reps. Remember that one. You are a basher. I am not sure I'd want your business.

Yea mrspecs, someone in one of your offices (with that volume you must have multiple offices) said or did something that you are unaware of. Now in your original post in the feedback forum you said you did 10k a month with LUX in this post it's 15k. Which is it?

$15K a month of Luxottica.....
You must be doing verrrry well. If you ONLY sell them in YOUR store you can gross over $1M a year. That is if you only sell Luxottica , which I doubt!
So If you dont do these # you are doing something else with the product.....:finger:
or you have multiple stores!
Do you have all the lines legaly in ALL the stores?

I don't know about Lux. But I really don't care if customers, dislike me or love me (yea, I would prefer that they all had a favorable opinion) but if they think I am the scum of the earth, as long as they are my customer, I am sure not going to stop them from being customers.
Sometimes I know that self referring practioners refer some to me that are such a pain in th behind, or flat crazy and they don't want to fool with them. They may be flat nuts, but as long as they are my nut, we are happy to have them.
Off the job I pretty much chose who I assoiate with, but on the job I see lots of people that I would avoid contact with them.
Don't know what Lux's attitude is, but this mine.

Why you and not me? The only thing I get from Lux is Ray Ban since we cater to a lot of pilots. I just ordered three frames and had no problem. And we are a very very small account. No problem getting EyeMed authorizations today either. I don't understand what happened. You weren't a DOC franchise were you?

How about this--STOP SELLING their stuff. I don't understand why any independent would have any Lux stuff in their shops with all the other frames to choose from. Don't complain about Lux and thier evil ways and then place a new order after logging off.:finger:

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't (now) Safilo's own Mr Armani own over 35% of Luxottica stock?
There is always one CONSPIRACY THEORIST out there!

I didnt know Armani owned that much stock. It does make sense because Lux had its IPO immediately following the Armani initial optical release.

Now call me crazy, but I'm guessing that a place called "Spare Pair Vision" isn't selling hundreds of Lux designer frames everyday. Don't get me wrong, it's a great name, and probably a great store, but it sounds more to me like a place that would sell disco. designers, if any at all.
I wonder if Lux (if it even happened at all...) didn't cut off the account for advertising prices, or undercutting their current product w/ disco. frames.
Just a hunch...
Hey Johns,
I'm a wee bit slow. Well OK, I'm alot bit slow. Whats that number for JEFF again?

Yes you are right when you said i that I quoted 10 and 15k with lux. But I have 4 stores and do 10 in the largest alone. My 4 stores currently gross over 6 million combined and 3.5 is just from the largest. I hope that they never bup essilor or vistakon. Remember no one worried about Hitler till he came after them. And to all the reps, think about what he just did to the chanel crew when he let them go to hire marketing staff that doesnt get commisions. Is Prada next or will your company follow the leader if they think they have a great or hot line.

He claims to have deep pockets. There is already enough in this thread, making claims and people jumping on his band wagon, for the possibility of a suit. It would not surprise me if this happened with claims for punitive damages due to his deliberate acts here. Optiboard may even be named as co-defendant. What does surprise me is the board continues to leave this post hanging right out there like a weenie stuck in a zipper.

This will be my last comment on this matter. But i am sickened by the remarks by some of my optician friends. We are a small industry and shouldn not fight or insult each other. NO I never sold anything on the internet. No that is not my web address. And why is it that because the store name is Spare Pair, does it make my store a disscounter. We carry fr4ames upto 2000.00 with diamonds and gold frames from some of the most expensive lines. But when you say that maybe I was selling the frames to cheap, I say that my prices are fair and not cheap, and why does luxottica have the right to set the prices on my frames in my stores. My store will go on without luxottica, and my family will still eat tommorow. I just hope that you dont have to wonder at any point why they cut you off.
