Hi Optibiz,
There are several Master Opticians here on the optiboard, I believe...
Darryl M.
Diane D.
Pete H.
**I am sure there are more!
I am one as well, and would be happy to email stuff back and forth:

While this is a good idea, I think it would be even better to ask and answer these questions on the Board so everyone can learn from them! :)

Add Homer and myself to the masters list. We also could run another for FCLSA and NCLC-AC (advanced to this list). In that event list me also as well as Diane. Any more of you speak up so others can learn.

Bev,
My thoughts would also to include the information here rather than via e-mail. ABOMs and FCLSA or NCLE-AC would be a good thread.

Ok Folks
Thanks for being so gracious.
I want an explanation of the complete use
of the list of Optical dispensing tools
that I have in the attachment in the Market Place.
I use them but I was told that only a Master Optician
will know the real answers.
Thanks

Diane,
I meant on this board and not privately so all can learn.
Opti Biz, I will look at the post this weekend and comment.
Bev:)

I reviewed the listing. Almost all these tools are mentioned in text books and are used for specific adjustments or fabrication. Many for multi purposes. They are common knowledge if researched. Any other comments Homer, Pete or Diane?

Optibiz,
With the preface that I have no interest in either company mentioned, but do love the Commonwealth.
Check out the catalogs of the major suppliers of optical tools.I can't speak for the others, but the 2 Massachusetts companies in that industry ( Hilco and Sadler ) put the information you need in their catalog.
They show:
1. A photo and description of the tool
2. A schematic drawing of the tool
3. A photo of the tool being used
Also bear in mind an old adage.
"The bitterness of poor quality will remain long after the sweetness of low price"
With apologies to all Masters, I wish you luck.
Best from Cape Cod
