Hello all,

I'm looking into the design of single vision lenses. After having read the book of Mo Jalie (and used the Excel ray tracing program of Darryl) I wanted to transfer the design to Zemax, but noticed some discrepancies. Especially the field curvature seems to turn out differently with respect to the MOE and OAE errors. furthermore the exact focal distances etc I find hard to put the equivalent in Zemax
Does anyone have such a design lay-out in Zemax (for example) for me to see how things are transferred?

Thanks a lot for helping me out

I might be able to help you, but I am not familiar with zemax a little too pricey of a piece of software for my blood If you were to download OSLO I could walk you through a SV design very easily. Below is an example of a lens with a 4 base front and a -6.00 base back, the lens is 1.8mm thick so the Rx is -1.97 Diopters factoring in the thickness. You can see in the top the focal length of the lens -507.4mm.

I already have OSLO EDU installed, so I am able to work with this kind af files. Could you forward this example file to me so I can see how it works?
thanx
