Coburn 506 tool cutter question

I like to begin a lot of my questions this way ---> here's a potentially stupid question...

I know you can use a Coburn 302 tool cutter to cut aluminum and fiberlite/plastic tools, but can you use it to accurately cut foam tools as well?

Let's please just stick with the question and not worry about "why would he want to do such a thing?" :)

You mean a 302 lap cutter? The 506 was a cylinder machine.

I suspect you could cut a lap made of anything softer than the cutter on a 302 - though there might be a problem on the backswing (you might have to reduce the tension on the spring that allows the back of the cutter to drag across the surface of the lap).
