We've got a patient who was previously fit into Conforma's VFL3 (fluoroperm 30 in majestic blue). Since she is very light sensitive, she prefers a dark lens.

Unfortunately, a)the lenses aren't fitting well, b)the patient isn't seeing well distance or near, and c)she's now moved to Vancouver so we're picking up the fitting from where her last optometrist left off. Fun fun!

We ordered the Essential Extra MF from Blanchard. Her vision is much better and the lenses fit well, but (you guessed it) she wants a darker lens. Blanchard says they can't make the lenses any darker. And I can't find any other multifocal GP that would be dark like the VFL3.

HELP! Does such a monster exist? If anyone knows of a decent dark MF GP, please let me know.

The VFL and Essentials are only GP MF designs. I am surprised Blanchard will not custom make one in a darker lens material. Another aspheric GP design in a darker blue is another option.

We manufacture more MF GP contact lenses than any other single design. Advanced Vision Technologies offers several multifocal options. The Varifocal, Varifocal Plus, and Varifocal Plus High Add are base curve multifocals similar to the VFL and Essentials. I would suggest the Optimum Comfort material in dark blue.
