Jo and I have been trying to get together in the chat room to enjoy our coffee and bat the breeze.By prearrangement we tried to meet at 8:00 AM.I clicked on the miscellaneous button to get to the chat room and it arrived on my screen.I was the only one listed in the active users box.I know jo was there at the same time but her name never appeared in the users box. After some frantic PM'ing back and forth, she emailed me a url which brought me to a "similar" chat room but the message screen was blue instead of the black I was seeing in the room originally. She was listed as an active user and we were able to have a breif conversation before she left for work. She mentioned that Pete and Maria had a similar problem and thought it had something to do with style sets. Can anyone shed some light on this?
Thanks in advance from harry

I'm going to remove all traces of the old chat room and see if that helps.

Steve, Sean, et al

When I click the top of the page under Miscellaneous >chat room, I am brought to the following url
http://www.optiboard.com/forums/chat.php
The message screen is black, and it recognises me in the "users" box

When I click on the email that Jo sent me
http://www.optiboard.com/forums/chat.php
I am asked to log in which I do.Then I am brought to the same screen but it's blue.Thats the one that worked yesterday.

Someone mentioned in a post recently that the problem could be caused by cookies. They failed to say...or I did not read....How to correct this problem.
Help....
harry!

Harry,

Hmm, if I follow either link I go to the same place. You got me.

Harry,

Those links are exactly the same so I'm at a loss to explain why you would get different results from them.

Harry,
Did you try clicking on reload? Sometimes it could
be a bit before the cookies time out or reload.

Steve,
When I click onto Harry's first link the chat room comes up perfectly. When I click on the second, I get an error message similar to what I get when I click on the chatroom link from the main forum.
