Optician... Obstetrician... I can see how she could get the two confused.
"Well, ma'am, I'd be happy to fit you for some glasses, but I'm afraid you'll need to put your clothes on."

I sure wish a young lady would come into MY office and remove her clothing. I just got back from a vacation on an island in the Caribbean which is famous for its nude beaches, and the girls started putting their suits back ON when they saw ME coming.

I worked in a practice whose phone number was close to a local gyno group. We received phone calls asking for results of pregnancy tests etc., daily. One afternoon we must of had 10 calls. I answered on two occasions. One time a fellow called repeatedly looking for the answer. Although we said he reached an optical he said he wanted to know right know! about the info. My group of four put him on speaker phone when he didn't believe. We confered and told him it was triplets :)!
Then there was the woman who wanted the price on a tubiligation! I told her 5 times that this was an eye doctors optical. Finally after hearing her ----- for the umpteenth time I told her if she brought a friend with her in the next hour this would be a two for one price deal.

Maybe she wanted you to check her naked vision.

Reminds me of the story several years ago out west (I believe) where the OD requested his female patients to disrobe from the waist up. His theory was that examination of the spine had an affect on vision.
If there's any truth to that, DUH...The strange thing was that many women fell for the pitch. :(

I believe that happened in Iowa Diane. I think it was in the mid to late 80's. I once had a woman call to ask what kind of "special" examination procedure would require the optometrist to have her young son remove his pants?
