Plastic Frame Materials Questions

Hello,

I am aware of the different types of frame materials, both plastic and metal. However, I am not the best at determining what type of plastic I am working with until I am closer to the salt pan. Is there any tell tale signs of any certain types that would make this easier? Any tips or experience would be greatly appreciated...

I have noticed that some plastics seem to have more of a "sheen" than others. It really is hard to tell. I have referred to the Frames book on several occasions just to avoid any potential problems.
