Better learn to type without abreviated computer jargon. Doubt if you will find one of the chains to be the best source of income. Don't look for the best rewards in salary, lot to be said for a small commisssion (say 10%).

Great Opticians are very tough to find. There are many who are qualified to take a PD and Base Curve. Get the best you can be by becoming great in sales, kind to the public and knowledgeable about lenses. Also very important, become VERY proficient at fitting eyeglasses....an absolute key to being successful. Learn how to make glasses, and I don't just mean the basics. Attitude is very important....confidence and good work ethic round out the collection of all around top notch skills.

You will easily find 40k attainable...but 60k and up if you can make someone some money.
That is what I look for in an employee, if you are in the Edmonton area drop in for a tour of our facility.

Most of the larger chains like you mentioned are always hiring around Ontario. I'm sure you'd find some job postings on their websites.

If that fails, contact your provincial association (http://www.ontario-opticians.com) and I'm sure they would be able to give you a pretty accurate salary range.

Best of luck in the job hunt!
