Well, I'm just leaving tomorrow for my family's private 200 acre island on the North Thompson River, in the British Columbia interior. Fishing, trap shooting, riding quads, dirt bikes, and other "manly" persuits, and last couple of years running from angry mother bears. My wife and I keep an RV there year round, and will enjoy a nice 2 weeks there while we get our daughter squared away for her first year of college. (warning to the professors there, my daughter apparently knows every thing already.) What did everyone else do on vacation this year? Did you travel? Visit family? Do you have a little place on the lake? Did you go bungee jumping? Talk to all in 2 weeks.
VACATION ROCKS!:D

We have a beach house we share with another family so we spend time there a lot. Going to London in a couple months to visit friends. And bungee jumping--I think I'm over the age limit!!
I have a couple of friends who went to New Orleans/Miss for their summer vacation to help with re-building. Hats off to them!
I have been toying with the idea of a cooking school vacation--anyone have any experience??
Went scuba diving in Bonaire in February. I can't begin to express how amazing it is. If you are a diver and you haven't been, go now! Bonaire is reportedly the best caribbean diving. It also happened to be Carnivale (sp?) while we were there; very fun!
Took a week at the family cottage on the Bruce peninsula in July. A great area if you're into nature. Again, did a bit of diving in Tobermory...great for shipwrecks.
And finally, going to Vegas in a month for vision expo west and then have the rest of the week to see the sights. This will be our last trip without kids!

They are those 5 minutes between when your flight lands in the UK and when you're expected to be lecturing. Enjoy them!:D
