View Full Version : Why the price difference???

Why is the cost of a Transitions trifocal so very much higher than for a bifocal? This has puzzled us for a long time. We have many folks still wearing tri's and unfortunately the price differential between clear and Transitions usually prevents them from purchasing it as an add on even though both they and we know it would be a great feature for them.
Any input, Jim?

Hi Cindy K,
I hope all is well.
A FT28 Transitions 1.50 product is what is called a generic product (along with FSV and SFSV). We have a common source for these products and although our partner lens manufacturers offer these products, they are the same product but labeled with each manufacturers name to make it their own.
The FT35, 7x28 and 8x35 Trifocals are custom specialty products produced by the manufacturing partner that supplies them. This also goes for extended range SFSV and FT28's. In a sense, these are much like the PAL's they offer, each manufacturer has its own sphere, add, diameters for their product.
Have a great weekend,
Jim

Hello!
Would you be able to provide us with a list of lenses that are the same Transitons from any manufacturer?
I understand its SFSV and SFFT-28. Anything else?
Thanks
Lenny
