Stupid cube. You can't take it apart and put it back together again online - how are you supposed to solve it?

this sound preposterous, but it is true. Years ago, when the rubics cube was all the rage, I bought a book which had a system for solving the cube. Now it was a "rote" method, which means you had to memorise a few patterns and moves, but I got so I could solve any cube in about a minute. I stress that it was a system anyone could learn and did not involve any particular intelligence. The kicker though, is I was a skydiver in those days..so I decided to be the first and only person to solve the cube... in freefall. Eventually I decided it was as lame an idea as I ever heard, so I abandoned the idea in favour of freefalling from a foot launched hang glider while wearing a helmet cam and a smoke cannister on my boot. Snagged the camera on one of the guy wires on the hang-glider just as I jumped, and nearly hung myself. Landed in front of an adoring crowd looking rather cool...but no rubics cube.

Oh, I'm going to have to show Bill this and see if he can do it.
Don't ask me why but he loves that silly thing.

My wife knows the method for solving a rubik's cube and is a little obsessive. We saw one at a garage sale and she had to stop for a minute and solve it.

My favourite though was when she picked up my family's cube, which had been solved by the "peel and restick" method some years ago. She looked at it for about ten seconds and said "this colour shouldn't be here!"
