This 3D nanotechnology model of an American flag was fabricated using state-of-the-art materials engineering techniques. The "flagpole" is less than 0.01 millimeters "high"; the "flag" and "flagpole" together, not much larger than a single human blood cell. It was made by graduate engineering students at the University of Texas in Dallas.
