Canadian market share

Does anyone have data on what the market share is for Canada? Essilor, Nikon, Zeiss, Sola, Hoya...Just looking for info. Thanks

Don't have any data on hand, but some of these companies are publically traded. Go check out their financial statements and they may tell you there

Last time I read that Essilor ,has about 95% in Canada, it appears ture to me.

I am not sure it is quite as high as 95% but I agree that they are the dominating force for sure. Zeissola should have a respectable %, Nikon is on the rise and Hoya is in the process of doubling its facility in the Toronto area, Zeiss double their facility 2 years ago. Having said that Essilor is still the market leader by far. Thanks for your reply.

my best guess:

essilor: 60 ish

aosola/zeiss 25 ish

nikon 5 ish

hoya and all others combined 10 ish

where did you get 95% for essilor? they are ubiquitous in Canada but that is just pushing a little much I think. Do you have any references to this? Does any one else have an opinion on this?

I read a repot in around year 2000( I can't remember exactly), but the 95% was in the report, I remebered that right, how accurate it is I have no clue.
