A couple of OptiBoarders have written me saying that they don't immediately see their messages right after posting them. I haven't known what to recommend since this it appears to only happen at random, and only to some people.
Well I have just learned that their is a known bug in Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5 that causes it to occasionally ignore standard HTML commands which tell it load the new page instead of the one in its cache. (Gee a Microsoft program that doesn't adhere to industry standards - go figure!)
Anyway if this happens to you, try forcing IE to load the new page by pressing Shift-F5. This should bring up the new page.

I've read that Internet Explorer users should press CTRL-F5 rather than Shift-F5 to refresh a page. Try this if you don't see the latest message.

Or try holding down shift while clicking on the refresh button, works with ie 5.5
I to have this problem some times but it is due to the isp using a cache server to hold pages, Its supossed to speed things up ?

Steve:
The same thing has been happening with Netscape 4.7; I just end up refreshing the screen.

Corey,
Glad to see another Aussie on the Board! :D
As you can see by the double post, you had a temporary cache problem. There's really no way of predicting when this will happen. For instance I use IE 5.0 and never have the problem myself.

Thanks Steve. It also appears that my other message has seemed to re-appear!
How many other Aussies do you have on board?
Corey.

Not as many as I'd like. David Wilson, the Moderator for the Internatioanl Optics Forum is an Aussie, and I have a few Sola people occasionally lurking around (hi Huan!), but not many others I can think I'm afraid.
You can click on the 'Registered Members' link on the main forum page and do a search of members based on location.
