How do you get work in the USA?

Hello everyone from New Zealand!

I know I shouldn't be chatting about work, however I am looking for someone to help me out in finding work in the usa. I have done some dispensing work and fitting work however I am not a qualified optician. I will also need to be sponsored, can anyone help me? From what I remember, you guys (or Ya'll, as we say here in Georgia), have a great association in New Zealand. Have you contacted them? They may have some information that they could share with you.

We are working over here in the states to upgrade our profession and be recognized for what we are. True professionals. The National Federation of Schools (FNOS) has started, with the cooperation of some of the Opticianry Programs here, distance education through internet access. That could also be a source of contact here. Along with the education, part of the program requires a sponsor, or proctoring institution for the students.
