I'm needing a little help in finding something to fill this...

OD: +1.50 -6.00 x 120
OS: +3.00 -10.50 x 090
Add: 2.25
PD: 31.5/31.5
Seg 17
Frame A: 50
B:27
DBL:17
ED:48

Thanks in advance,
RJ

I think the Zeiss Individual can be ordered in a 10 cyl. Might be worth checking the position of wear calculation, as the cyl might reduce (if you are lucky). Failing that a good independant lab might be able to get more cyl out of a conventional design

Now that would be a perfect solution ;)

Rj,

Vision will be better, especially for near tasks, if you use a FT28. If it has to be a PAL consider a hard design like Sola's VIP, or for lightweight the VIP Gold. They both come in +.50 BC's. You might need to make an auxillary SV reader for better near optics and to minimze VI (about 3^ with a PAL) for those with above average near tasks. See if you can find a frame with a bit more depth for a 20-22mm seg ht.

If you talk to some of the, you’re, local labs I am sure they can come up with something. But if they can their visual field might become distorted

I don’t know if this is an option if you could fit the person with toric soft lens lens to bring down the cly then fit eyewear over top to correct the rest of the cly. I have a case of -18.00 -1.50 x 40 2.25 add fit with -10.00 day & night the Dr. came up with an over refraction of -4.00 -2.75 x 45 she came out with the best eye sight she had in years and was able to get back her driving licence. (That was easy one)

I known that Cooper will do a clys around a -5.00 should give them a call and see what they can do.

Unfortunately, I believe the cyl cut-off for Gradal Individual is -6.00 DC (in 1.6 high-index), though it would have been an excellent option otherwise.

whats the patient wearing now?

whats the patient wearing now?

She is currently in a Proceed II in 1.67 and was thrilled with her vision when I originally dispensed them, but her cyl was about 2 diopters less in her left eye then. She is a cone and has had 2 cornea transplants. BVA is OD20/30 OS20/40. I have suggested a flat top but she feel her glasses are "ugly enough as it is." *sigh*

I have contacted the lab I used on her current pair and they are confident the Proceed will work, but I thought I'd see what you guys had to say.

If the vision is suppressed in the left eye it probably won't matter what's there, including SV and/or a cut cylinder for cosmetics reasons. Even without suppression the chances of binocular anomalies due to different designs in each eye might be minimal, compared to the increase in off axis performance for the good eye.

If the vision is suppressed in the left eye

I corrected my error in the above post. BVA is 20/40 OS. Sorry.

I thought it was a 4.00 cyl

It is for the 1.67 product. The 1.6 goes to a 6.00 Cyl.

Do you realize how much the Rx is effected on a mess like this with the frame out of adjustment one degree horizontal? What this patient needs is a really good rigid contact lens fitter? If there are any left anyway.

Norvilles in the UK can supply
Essilor Adapter 1.49 Min height = 18

or

Sola 1 1.6 plastic minimum height = 18

Chip's right. I've seen patients with -1.75 cyl complaining when they're off 1 or 2 degrees.

If you want to make it a soft lens fit, Cooper will make up to a -9.75 cyl in, I think, a Preference Toric XR. Contacts are hardly my area of expertise, but they're out there.

If there are any left anyway.you could always ask the patient to come back when thier eyes are in less of a mess
