<< These lenses permit larger, sharp vision zones far beyond the reading distance since, unlike lenses for reading glasses, they are designed for the expanded near range from 40 to 80 cm and, unlike progressive lenses, have expanded vision zones exactly in this range. No matter what work you are doing, the vision zones are arranged in the lens so that you have permanent near vision with a comfortable head position.

your eyes can move continuously and comfortably between documents, keyboard and monitor. The wide field of vision in the intermediate area provides a good view of the monitor and permits relaxed work. >>

Since 40cm is about 1 1/3 ft and 80 cm is 2 2/3 ft., would this Rodenstock Nexyma primarily for Near Vision but gives wider Near Vision portion than Sola Access and Shamir Office?

W.r.t Intermediate vision, Nexyma wouldn't give the same level Intermediate like Sola Access or Shamir office, right? (I would think Shamir Office gives less Intermediate range than Sola Access but gives further distance than Access).

I don't really care about Intermediate vision as long as my eyes won't get tired in using Nexyma since I have a little bit of stigmatism. If I am near-sighted in one eye (+1.25 in Sph) and far-sighted in one eye (-0.25) with +1.00 stigmatism in both eyes, would Rodenstock Nexyma suitable for me?

The Nexyma range is not only set at 40 and 80 CM, there is a second set of choices that is ADD dependant

Degression A (0.8 dpt) for add. 1.25 to 1.75
Degression B (1.5 dpt) for add. 2.0 to 2.5

So there is Nexyma 40A, 40B, 80A, 80B

For VDU use, one orders the Nexyma80, the width is ample for the largest screen. Your Optician will then choose what variant to order, depending on your Add

There are also the options of the Individual design version of the lenses too. Impression Nexyma 40 and Impression Nexyma 80

Based on the many variants of the same lens type, I would recommend you visit a professional dispenser to review your options properly

I mentioned Rodenstocka nd the opticain I went to wasn't keen on it.

Even the best optician seems to worry that if it gets too pricey, the customer won't do it.

What's your opnion on Rodenstock versus Shamir Office and Sola Access?

As I say - with so many variants within the same range, It's hard to say what is the best lens for you. A consultation with a good qualified dispenser should sort out the lens choice. They will take into account your Prescription, occupation, lifestyle, and other practacle issues like frame chouce, size of the screen / work area you use etc. Each lens has its own place, and each patient has a different need
