Hi,

I wears progressive lens. My RX is low. I plan to sue CR39.

I just talked with an independent lab in SF (needs to drive 2 hours but I got sick dealing with places at this city I am currently living) that can fill any brand (including Shamir) for me. He mentioned about the availability of Perfax at his place which he said is not in the market yet. He said Perfax is the best.

I asked him what line in perfax is equivalent to Shamir office and what would be to Varilux Panamic. He said that there is no line name in Perfax and that he can do what I want.

I asked him what fitting height (for the dress pair frame) I should get to be able to put lens that would allow me to see ALL distance really well giving wider intermediate range like Varilux Panamic. He said 18mm. BTW, he said that Varilux Panamic is very similar to Varilux Comfort but I think that Panamic gives wider intermediate to Comfort.

For computer pair, he said the bigger fitting hegith is the better.

BTW, he mentioned Shamir Autograph. I wonder where this fits in comapred to Varilux Panamic , Ellipse, and Comfort.

I am not going to a new brand name just because it's not in the market yet. I am not into hype. Beside, there may not be enough feedback form consumers if it is new. I just want something that fulfills my need (need in every aspect: vision w/o sacrificing too much in style.)
