Hello,

In the past I had used varilux progressive lenses. I found them good for driving only. Could not able to read or work on computers with them. so got a single vision lense for computer work.

My Rx is changed and need to get a new pair of progressive lens. Based on the reading online and on this forum I am thinking of having 2 pairs as follows:

1. PAL with wide near and intermediate vision, using either Gradal RD or gradal top E. Read online that they offer good vision from near to 10 feet. What is your experience?

2. second pair using ovation mainly for driving. (don't want to go for single vision as I would not be able to read directions on my post-it if needed..)

Does this make sense. My personal info is as follows:

I am in early 50 and a computer professional. 90% of time doing near and intermediate distance work.

Also I live in Fairfax VA. In this area we have 'hour eyes' dispensers and I am thinking using their services. Any recommendations.

Thanks for your expert advise.

-Sue

gradal top E. Read online that they offer good vision from near to 10 feet. What is your experience?

The Zeiss Gradal top E was a lens my optician recommended... i think it's the same as the regular Gradal top except that fitting height for the E is 18 instead of 22. Newer perhaps. Someone can correct me if wrong.

That's the only light I can shed on your situation. But perhaps you may post your Rx to help others understand your case better.

1. I recommended Rodenstock Progressive AT for driving. This PALs will offer you high quality of vision at night and have good dynamic vision.

2. For Computer and read , I recommended Rodenstock Nexyma 80.
