I would like to get some feedback from anyone who knows anything, or have tried these lenses.

I have 2 pairs of eyeglasses with Varilux comfort transitions, normal 1.5 index, and a pair with Hoya Wide Photochromic lenses 1.55 index in rimless frames.
I find the Hoya photochromic lenses with crisper vision than those of the Varilux comfort transitions.

I have new rimless frames and I would like to try the Hoya Summit Pro Suntech 1.6 index to try a new lens design, and also for its tensile strenght which is supposedly important in rimless frames, altho' I've not have had any problems so far with my present rimless eyeglasses with only 1.55 index lenses.

Will I see a great difference between the Hoya Wide Photochromic 1.55, and Hoya Summit Pro Suntech 1.6? Is it worth paying more for these lenses?

My Rx:
+0.75 -0.25 X 170
+1.00 -0.25 X 140
add +200

Thanks.

Would be no advantage as far as thiness in either material over regular CR-39 in such a low Rx. As to whether the "technical superiority" of these particular designs is "worth the price" all depends on whether it is worth it to you.

I get mine free and I would use regular CR-39 if yours were my Rx.

Thanks for the advice.

How about if the add is +2.25? - will there be a difference in thickness and weight?

For computer work I use eyeglasses with +2.25 add - they are more comfortable.

I'm told that my RX is considered moderate, and that I would benefit from higher index lenses if I want my eyeglasses to look nicer.

Computer glasses are worn for such a short period of time in a closed environment so benefits of thinner lighter more expensive should be nill.

On you regular glasses they would look nicer to the man you are paying for the lenses but no one else will notice.

Hi , nyle

1.Hoyalux GP Wide Photochromic can not compare the comfort of vision with Varilux Comfort , because it is too difference technology.

2. Technology of Varilux Comfort is 10 years more advance than Hoyalux GP Wide.

3. If you would like to have about the same quality of vision. You have to going for Hoyalux Summit pro 1.6 Suntech.

4. Hoyalux Summit pro is about the same Varilux Comfort for near used. But , Varilux Comfort is still quite better for far , intermediate , comfort of vision , dynamic vision and instant focus system.

5. If you would like to have better vision than Varilux Comfort . You have to going for Hoyalux iD 1.6 Suntech.

6. Hoya 1.6 Suntech material is very strong for rimless frame and have very good ABBE value at 42.

7. Hoyalux GP Wide have near vision wider than Hoyalux Summit pro , but Hoyalux Summit pro have better intermediate and far vision.
