Actually it's not really a hack. This just takes advantage of the 'header' and 'footer' section in the Control Panel by inserting tables into them.
Here's a URL that explains it:

I'm not quite satisfied with how this looks yet. I which I was a better graphic designer! :( (Any OptiBorders want to design some graphics for the Board??)
There's also another problem that's bothering me. On some of the pages, the links bar does not line up properly when viewed in Netscape 4.72. It looks fine in Internet Explorer (which 80% of OptiBoarders use) but a little off with NS.

Hi John! I see you're on the Board right now.
I've received some help in fixing the menu bar and it now seems to be working fine in both IE and NS. I'm playing around with the color scheme. I think I like the blue-grey-yellow combo.
What do you think?

I know what might look good is to have the optiboard logo without the words on as a background pic to the "post new topic" and "post reply" buttons. working on mine at the mo but not very good at it :(.
Does anything ever look the same in ie or netscape? i hate them for the problems they cause.
colours much more pleasing on the eyes than the std ubb

Hmmm - I'm not sure how to make it appear as a background in just a small section like that. What I'd need is for Pete Hanlin to send me the distinct elements of the OptiBoard logo as separate files.
Can you do that Pete?????
